The Supreme Court remains the most powerful judicial body on the earth. But they make their decisions in private. In the Comm3390 Supreme Court, Pt. 1 a quote was stated that said, “but it is the quiet of a storm center” which was referring to the Supreme Court. The statement was talking about how there is a lot that happens behind closed doors and only selective people know certain things and decide to keep quiet to protect people from the “storm.” The power rests on the public faith, independence, and no bias.
Additionally, the Supreme Court interprets a 200-year-old Constitution safeguarding liberty and preserving the Union, and upholding the rule of the law. Some roles in the Supreme Court are the justices. They serve 16 years and can remain on the bench for twice as long. The justices are responsible to the law, to the institution, and their own conscience. Part of their job is that they tell the president, Congress, states what they can or cannot do.
Today’s Court looks to the Constitution to resolve national problems. While sharing the same basic objective and having the same idea of faith to get it accomplished. In our Constitution it is quoted, “We the people..” that shows how the Constitution embraces it today, and we work together as one unit. Even though it did not start like that.
